Steven Matz To Make One More Rehab Start
Steven Matz (shoulder) is expected to make one more rehab start before returning to the major league rotation. If that happens, Matz would make a start before the all-star break. The 31-year-old lefty has been out since late May with a left shoulder impingement. After a solid 2021 season, Matz has fallen on hard times with the Cardinals this year. He has a 3-3 record with a 6.03 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 44 strikeouts over 37 ⅓ IP. While he is likely to improve on his disastrous numbers, he doesn't need to be rostered in most leagues. He should still remain a decent streamer when he faces weak competition.
