9 months agoThe Boston Red Sox placed first baseman Steve Pearce (back) on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with a lower back strain and recalled first baseman/outfielder Sam Travis from Triple-A Pawtucket in a corresponding move. Pearce had done very little after winning the World Series MVP, hitting just .180/.245/.258 with a homer and nine RBI in 89 at-bats. He doesn't need to be owned in any mixed leagues at this point and is really only a low-priced DFS play against southpaws when he's in the lineup. With Mitch Moreland also on the injured list, Michael Chavis could split time at first with Travis, which would allow Eduardo Nunez and Brock Holt to share playing time at the keystone.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
