Shohei Ohtani Takes MLB Lead In Home Runs
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter/starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani took the major league lead in home runs by hitting his 27th and 28th homers of the season in an 11-5 loss to the New York Yankees on Tuesday night. Ohtani now has three home runs in the last two games at Yankee Stadium. It was the two-way star's second multi-homer game of the season, and both of his long balls came off Yankees starter Jameson Taillon. "He's a generational talent," Yankees star Aaron Judge said. Ohtani has homered in three straight games and has gone deep 11 times in his last 13 games. Oh, and he's also gone 3-1 with a 2.58 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 59 1/3 innings as a starting pitcher and is scheduled to make his first career start in the Bronx on Wednesday. The dude can do it all. Babe Ruth would be impressed. Ohtani is hitting .313 with six doubles, a triple, 16 walks, 23 RBI and a team-record 13 home runs in June.
