Former Pro Bowl linebacker Shaq Barrett has applied to be reinstated to play immediately in the NFL, according to his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. Barrett announced his retirement from professional football in July but has now decided to come out of retirement late in the 2024 season. The Miami Dolphins currently hold Barrett's contractual rights. Back in August, Barrett said that if he did come out of retirement, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be the only team he'd play for. The 32-year-old two-time Pro Bowler spent the last five seasons playing for the Bucs and totaled 45 sacks while also helping the team win a Super Bowl title. If he's going to return to Tampa, the Dolphins would have to waive him first. Last year with the Bucs, Barrett had 52 tackles (33 solo), 4.5 sacks, one interception returned for a TD and three forced fumbles in 16 starts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
