Shane Bieber To Start On Opening Day
5 years agoThe Cleveland Indians officially named starting pitcher Shane Bieber as the starter for Opening Day on March 26 against the Tigers. Bieber struck out seven with no walks in a dominating four-inning performance against the A's on Friday and has allowed just two hits and a walk in 7 2/3 innings in the Cactus League. He's struck out nine of the 26 hitters he's faced as well. Bieber won 15 games and was second in the American League with 259 strikeouts last year, so he's a must-start every time he takes the mound now. He's coming off the board on average around pick No. 28 in fantasy drafts this spring as a midrange fantasy ace for the Tribe.
