Seahawks Unsure If Chris Carson Will Return This Year
3 years agoSeattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson (neck) will miss his fourth straight game in Week 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and head coach Pete Carroll said there is no timeline for when Carson will return. Carroll couldn't even say if Carson would return this season. Carson initially felt discomfort in his neck in the preseason but played through it for the first four games of the regular season. He "has pretty good motion and flexibility," but he still feels pain in his neck. Carson is eligible to return after the team's Week 9 bye, but at this rate, that doesn't seem likely. Until further notice, Seattle will continue to rely on Alex Collins and Rashaad Penny, with DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer also seeing scraps in the backfield. Collins should remain the primary back, but he's a low-upside RB3/flex until quarterback Russell Wilson (finger) returns.
