Seahawks Receiving More Calls On Russell Wilson
4 years agoSeattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has been outspoken about his displeasure with the team in the last week, and it's led to increased interest around the league. Seattle has received calls at an increasing rate in recent days. Wilson is entering the third year of a five-year deal that pays him an average of $35 million per year and includes a $32 million salary cap number in 2021 and a no-trade clause. He had a big voice in the hiring of new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. But his offense crumbled down the stretch and he was unhappy with the offensive line. Seattle has no plans to trade Wilson, but his relationship with the team has become a bit rocky, so it wouldn't be unrealistic to think that the signal-caller could force his way out. The 32-year-old is still a dynamic QB and was the MVP front-runner in the first half of the season, so he should be a high-end QB1 in Seattle or elsewhere in 2021.
