Sal Frelick Remains Out Against Padres
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers rookie outfielder Sal Frelick (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup on Friday against the visiting San Diego Padres. Frelick said his hamstring is feeling good, but the Brewers want him to get through a full pre-game warmup before he returns to the lineup. He's hoping to return to action on Saturday for the second game of the three-game series. Tyrone Taylor is getting the start in center field on Friday and is hitting ninth against Padres right-hander Yu Darvish. Frelick, the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has hit .250 (19-for-76) with three home runs, four doubles, 16 RBI, five stolen bases and 16 runs scored in his first 26 major-league games for the Brew Crew. His excellent bat-to-ball skills and plus speed make him attractive in mixed fantasy leagues for the rest of the 2023 campaign.
