Saints Bracing For Drew Brees To Miss Some Time
4 years agoUpdating a previous report, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees (rib) suffered a rib contusion in the Week 10 win over the 49ers, and he's undergoing an MRI exam on Monday for cartilage damage. The Saints are bracing for Brees to miss some time in order to fully heal. Fantasy managers that had been rolling with the 41-year-old as their starting QB all season must now look to other options, starting in Week 11 for the divisional matchup against the Falcons. If Brees does miss time, it'll likely be Jameis Winston under center over Taysom Hill, although Hill could mix in for some packages here and there. Against an Atlanta defense that is allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to signal-callers, Winston would be an attractive high-end QB2 streamer if Brees doesn't play this weekend. Continue to monitor Brees' status throughout the week, but be prepared to go in another direction.
