Ryan Yarbrough Rocked By Angels
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Ryan Yarbrough gave up five runs in six innings vs the Angels Thursday. Yarbrough, who usually works behind an opener, was given the opportunity to start Thursday which proved to be a mistake. He served up a three-run homer to Shohei Ohtani in the first inning before settling in somewhat. Yarbrough's ERA is now a ghastly 5.59 and though his SIERA of 4.30 suggests he should be a little better than that, he's not someone that will be a difference maker in fantasy. His 17.7 percent strikeout rate is well below average and his 53 percent strand rate suggests he's been lucky to not allow more runs so far. He's an interesting SPARP option in deep points leagues but is best left on waivers in standard mixed leagues.
