Ryan Weathers to be Evaluated for Shoulder Discomfort
Ryan Weathers (shoulder) is back in Miami to be evaluated for shoulder discomfort, according to MLB.com's Christina De Nicola. Weathers had a rough start on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rays, as he showed diminished velocity and then was hit in the head by catcher Nick Fortes between innings. His head is fine, but the Marlins are worried about his shoulder after he was seen flexing his arm during his outing over the weekend. The 25-year-old southpaw started the year on the injured list with a forearm injury, which is why he's been limited to only five starts. In his five starts, Weathers has a strong 3.28 ERA (4.40 FIP) and 1.05 WHIP with 23 strikeouts and eight walks in 24 2/3 innings pitched. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day, but his next start is firmly in jeopardy, and he could be in danger of going on the IL for the second time in 2025.
