Roschon Johnson Might Have Most Potential As Three-Down Back
1 year agoChicago Bears running backs Khalil Herbert and D'Onta Foreman have more experience, but ESPN's Courtney Cronin suggests rookie Roschon Johnson might have the most potential as a three-down back. Herbert and Foreman have split first-team repetitions during training camp, and offensive coordinator Luke Getsy has experimented with using both backs as pass-catchers, a role neither has occupied much throughout their careers. The determining factor in who will become the No. 1 back this year likely will come down to pass protection, a skill that Herbert has focused on improving in the offseason. The 22-year-old Johnson is more of a pass-catcher than early down back, so if he's going to have fantasy value in his first NFL season, it's likely going to be as an RB4/5 in deep PPR leagues.
