Robert Woods 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Stuck Behind Strong Starting Trio In Houston
6 months agoRobert Woods has had a fantastic career, but he's clearly in the twilight portion as a useful fantasy asset. Woods' 2023 saw him with his third team in as many seasons; this time with the Houston Texans after spending 2022 with the Titans. Woods took a backseat to Nico Collins, rookie Tank Dell, and Dalton Schultz in the 2023 Texans' target hierarchy as he accrued 40 receptions, 426 receiving yards, and one touchdown on 71 targets. Woods' targets per route run (17%) and yards per route run (1.02) were the lowest of his career and 2024 likely continues his downward trend as Stefon Diggs joins Houston. After Diggs, Collins, Dell, and Schultz, Woods will compete as depth amongst the Texans pass-catchers with Ben Skowronek, Xavier Hutchinson, and John Metchie. It's plausible that Woods could fall further in the pecking order during OTAs and training camp heading into 2024. With a WR109 ADP and ranked as RotoBaller’s WR120 in half-PPR, it's clear that Woods should be left on the waiver wire or undrafted in all fantasy formats unless he finds the fountain of youth or a swath of injuries hits the starters.
