Richard Fitts to Start Rehab Assignment on Thursday
Richard Fitts (pectoral) is scheduled to start his minor-league rehab assignment on Thursday with Triple-A Worcester, weather permitting. Because Fitts has been out over a month with a strained pectoral muscle, he will most likely require at least a handful of rehab starts on the farm before Boston considers activating him from the injured list. Although he did well in his first three starts at the big-league level in 2025 before his injury, the 25-year-old won't be guaranteed a stable rotation spot when he's fully healthy. Fitts went 0-2 with a 3.18 ERA (3.97 FIP) and 1.12 WHIP with 13 strikeouts and five walks in his 17 innings. He has so far limited hard contact at the major-league level after debuting in 2024, but Fitts' 14.2% strikeout rate leaves a lot to be desired in fantasy.
