Rhamondre Stevenson Has An Opportunity For Bigger Role
3 years agoNew England Patriots running backs coach Ivan Fears said that rookie running back Rhamondre Stevenson has made "big improvements" of late, and he could be part of the solution in the backfield with James White (hip) now out for the rest of the season. Stevenson has been a healthy scratch the last two weeks after fumbling in his first career NFL game in the season opener. "As I look at it, he's got the skill. He's going to be a hell of a football player in this league," Fears said. J.J. Taylor could also be in the mix. Damien Harris should remain the favorite on early downs, but Stevenson, Taylor and Brandon Bolden, who was mostly used on passing downs last week when White was injured, are expected to take over White's role in some way. How the playing time actually shakes out on a weekly basis is anyone's guess right now, but Stevenson is one to watch in deeper leagues.
