Rex Ryan Interviews For Cowboys Defensive-Coordinator Position
10 months agoFormer New York Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan interviewed for the Dallas Cowboys' vacant defensive-coordinator job, according to sources. The 61-year-old hasn't coached in the NFL since 2016, when he was fired by the Bills. Before that, he spent six seasons as the head coach of the Jets. Ryan came up through the ranks in the NFL as a defensive coach and served as the Baltimore Ravens' defensive coordinator from 2005-08. His units in Baltimore never finished below sixth in yards allowed per game, and his Jets teams had top-10 defenses in all but one season (2013). He had a combined 61-66 record with the Jets and Bills and led the Jets to two AFC Championship games. Dallas is looking for a new defensive coordinator after Dan Quinn left to become the head coach of the Washington Commanders.
