Ranger Suarez To Miss Next Start With Hamstring Injury
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez (hamstring) will miss his next scheduled start on Sunday against the Washington Nationals due to soreness in his hamstring, which came on in Toronto during the week. Right-hander Zack Wheeler will start on Sunday in Suarez's place. The good news is that the Phillies don't think Suarez's injury is a long-term concern. The 27-year-old southpaw may only miss the one start this weekend, but we won't know for sure until next week. It's definitely bad timing for his fantasy managers, as Suarez has been strong so far in the month of August, allowing just five earned runs on 22 hits while walking seven and striking out 16 in 18 1/3 innings over three starts against the Marlins, Nationals and Twins.
