Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Petr Mrazek turned aside each of the 18 shots he faced in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Washington Capitals on Monday. He is the sixth different goaltender in Hartford Whalers/Hurricanes history to post a shutout in the Stanley Cup playoffs, and the first since Cam Ward turned the trick in Game 2 of the 2009 Conference Semifinals against the Boston Bruins. It was also Mrazek's fourth career shutout in just his 13th postseason start. Game 4 is set for Thursday at PNC Arena in Raleigh, and they'll need another monster performance from their backstop if the Hurricanes hope to square the series at 2-2.--Daniel Dobish
