8/27:Buffalo Bills quarterback Nathan Peterman got the call with one minute to go in the second quarter of the Bills 26-13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. He came into the game to replace starter Josh Allen, who exited the game to be checked for a possible concussion. Allen was cleared to return, but Peterman continued for the remainder of the game. Peterman was very effective, leading the Bills on two touchdown drives on the first two possessions of the second half, highlighted by a 17-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jason Croom. Even though Peterman was very sharp, it should be noted that this performance was against Cincinnati's second and third units, not the top one that hounded the Bills and seated Allen for five first-half sacks. Things are getting very interesting in Buffalo. Peterman keeps playing well and AJ McCarron (shoulder) is eyeing a return in the near future. These two, along with Josh Allen, have a good shot at the starting quarterback position for Week 1. However, none are worthy as a starting quarterback in standard leagues.--Joel Dorcas
