New York Mets right-hander
Frankie Montas (lat) threw his fourth bullpen session on Friday, and his goal is to face live hitters by the end of next week, according to NorthJersey.com's Andrew Tredinnick. Montas was shut down from throwing for almost two months after he was diagnosed with a high-grade right-lat strain in mid-February at the start of spring training. The 32-year-old veteran restarted a throwing program in mid-April, though, and is slowly making progress towards his 2025 season debut with the Mets. The Dominican hurler is ahead of lefty
Sean Manaea, who is ramping up from an oblique injury. Montas is currently on the 60-day injured list and isn't expected to rejoin New York's starting rotation until early June, barring a setback. He made just one appearance in 2023 due to injury and was up and down while allowing a ton of hard contact with Milwaukee and Cincy a season ago.

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher
Hunter Dobbins was excellent on Friday, tossing six shutout innings while allowing five hits and no walks and striking out six batters. However, the appearance was squandered, as the Red Sox were unable to provide any run support, ultimately losing 2-1 in the 12th inning to the Royals. Dobbins has been good in his four starts so far, posting a 2.78 ERA (3.72 xFIP), 1.19 WHIP, and a 15.6 percent K-BB% over 22 2/3 innings. The righty's next start tentatively lines up with the Tigers, unless
Walker Buehler (shoulder) can return in time for that contest. Detroit is averaging the fourth-most runs per game in the majors at 5.68, but they are also averaging 7.67 runs over the last three games, so it is an offense on a roll right now, and caution is warranted if Dobbins is able to get the nod.

New York Mets left-hander
Sean Manaea (oblique) is up to throwing from 120 feet on flat ground and is set to play catch off the mound next, according to NorthJersey.com's Andrew Tredinnick. A strained right oblique has kept Manaea away from the big-league team so far in 2025, and he needed a platelet-rich plasma injection before restarting his throwing program in the middle of April. Now that the 33-year-old southpaw is getting close to throwing off a mound, he could be close to facing live hitters as he continues to build up his arm. Still, in a best-case scenario, Manaea most likely won't make his season debut until sometime in June, so fantasy managers stashing him must remain patient. A mechanical adjustment helped the former first-rounder have a career resurgence in his first year with the Mets in 2024, as he went 12-6 with a 3.47 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 184 K's and 63 walks in 32 regular-season starts.

Over his last nine contests, Clark has been swinging a hot bat, holding a stellar .395/.439/.500 slash line. During this stretch, he has held a 2:3 K:BB with a double and a home run. Through 26 total games this season, the No. 5-ranked prospect in the sport on MLB.com has held a strong .313/.452/.424 slash line with five doubles, two home runs, and two stolen bases. During his first look at High-A pitching during the 2024 season, Clark held a modest .264/.344/.421 line with 10 doubles and two long balls across 34 contests. Fantasy managers should expect the former third overall pick to be in the mix to earn a promotion to Double-A in the coming months.

Houston Astros starting pitcher
Hunter Brown tossed 5 2/3 shutout innings in Friday's 3-0 victory over the Reds, yielding two hits and four walks while striking out nine batters on the way to earning his sixth win of the season. It was his fourth consecutive game with nine K's, but his first non-quality start of the year since he didn't go six innings. Still, the six wins tie him for most in the majors, and the righty's seven other quality starts lead all pitchers. Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect
Thomas White logged five shutout innings during his outing on Friday against High-A Cedar Rapids. In this start, White allowed just two hits and two walks. He struck out eight batters. The budding southpaw has enjoyed a solid start to the High-A campaign. Through his first 25 innings of work, the left-hander has struck out 37 batters and held a 3.24 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP. Last summer, White spent most of his time at High-A, where he held a 2.61 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP across 62 innings of work. During this stint, White struck out 76 batters and allowed 21 free passes. Fantasy managers should expect White to earn a promotion to Double-A in the coming weeks, given his steady progress at High-A.

Chicago Cubs third base prospect
Matt Shaw went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, an RBI, and a stolen base during Friday's contest. The 23-year-old was able to crack the Opening Day roster but was optioned back to Triple-A after his slow start. During his first 18 games in the majors, Shaw held a modest .172/.294/.241 slash line with just one double and a long ball. However, since his return to Triple-A Iowa, Shaw has posted a strong .262/.392/.415 slash line with five doubles, one triple, one long ball, and three stolen bases. Last summer at Triple-A, the Maryland product posted a stellar .298/.395/.534 slash line with eight doubles and seven long balls. Given his recent stretch at Triple-A, fantasy managers should expect the top prospect to return to the big leagues in the coming weeks.

New York Yankees starting pitcher
Will Warren lasted a season-high 7 1/3 innings in Friday's 10-2 victory over the Athletics, allowing just one run on four hits and a walk while striking out seven batters on the way to earning his second win of the season. The 25-year-old hadn't pitched more than five innings in any of his previous seven turns through the rotation, so this was also his first quality start of the year as well. Now the owner of a 4.75 ERA (3.34 xFIP), 1.36 WHIP, and a 15.8 percent K-BB%, the righty will take on Seattle on the road in his next start, a team that has been surprisingly good on offense this season (sixth-most runs per game), so unless you're in desperate need of strikeouts, Warren may be best left on the bench or waiver wire next week.

New York Mets right-handed pitching prospect
Nolan McLean enjoyed an impressive outing in his Triple-A debut on Friday evening. Facing Triple-A Jacksonville, McLean struck out seven batters across seven shutout frames. He did not allow a walk. He allowed seven hits. The No. 5-ranked prospect in the system enjoyed a strong start to the season at Double-A and appears to have carried his momentum into the top level of the minor leagues. Through 26 1/3 innings with Double-A Binghamton, the right-hander posted a stellar 1.37 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP. During this stretch, he struck out 30 batters. Last summer, McLean spent most of his time with Double-A, where he posted a modest 4.19 ERA. Given his impressive start to the season, the Oklahoma State product should be in the mix to get the call to Queens in the coming months.

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect
Jonny Farmelo went 3-for-4 with a double and two home runs during Friday's contest against High-A Tri-City. During this outing, Farmelo tallied two RBI and drew a walk. The 20-year-old missed the opening weeks of the campaign while recovering from the torn ACL he suffered last season. Through his first seven games of the High-A regular season, Farmelo has been very productive, holding a .281/.343/.781 slash line with two doubles, one triple, four home runs, and seven RBI. Last summer, the No. 93-ranked prospect in the sport made his professional debut with Low-A Modesto and posted a .264/.398/.421 line with 10 doubles, three triples, and four long balls. Fantasy managers should expect Farmelo to spend most of the season at High-A.

Milwaukee Brewers right-handed prospect
Jacob Misiorowski struck out a season-best 11 batters during his outing against Triple-A Norfolk on Friday evening. In this outing, Misiorowski allowed just two hits and one free pass. He did not allow a run. Over his last 23 2/3 innings of work (four starts), Misiorowski has posted a near-perfect 0.38 ERA with a 0.72 WHIP. During this stretch, Misiorowski has served up just six walks and struck out 33 batters. During his first 18 2/3 innings of work, Misiorowski held a solid 2.89 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression at Triple-A as the Crowder College product appears to be approaching his MLB debut. Given his improved command and increasing strikeout potential, he is a strong stash option going forward.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder
Jackson Chourio went 3-for-5 in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Rays. All three hits were singles, but it was still a fruitful day for fantasy as he also scored once and stole two bases in the contest. The 21-year-old is off to a fine start this season, now with a .267-6-24-24-5 stat line with a .323 wOBA and 104 wRC+, ranking him as one of the top 40 players in fantasy, however, it could be better. The right-handed hitter is walking at a minuscule 1.8 percent rate, leading to a poor .282 on-base percentage. If he can start to work more counts and get on base more, then more steals and runs should follow; last season the Venezuelan's walk rate was below league average, but was still much higher at 6.8 percent. Nevertheless, he remains one of fantasy's five-category contributors and should remain a top 40 option throughout the year.

Los Angeles Dodgers utility man
Enrique Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored in Friday's 14-11 win over the Diamondbacks. The veteran's batting average may not show it as it sits at .215, but he's been somewhat productive in the lineup, now with six home runs on the year with 15 RBI, and 12 runs scored in 87 plate appearances, leading to a .317 wOBA and 102 wRC+. He is not a preferred option for fantasy without regular at-bats, though, despite being eligible at 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, and OF on Yahoo!. If the 33-year-old found regular ABs, then he would be in consideration for a roster spot, as he's clearly still got some pop in his bat, although a career high 13.8 percent barrel rate is sure to regress, but for now, he is a just a cheap DFS option unless you play in an NL-only league.

Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman
Eugenio Suarez went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional RBI, three total runs, and two walks in Friday's 14-11 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Suarez put the Diamondbacks on top 3-1 with a two-run shot off Dodgers pitcher
Roki Sasaki in the bottom of the first inning. His home run traveled 423 feet with an exit velocity of 108 mph. It was his first home run since his four-homer game back on April 26th. With the bases loaded, Suarez walked to log his third RBI of the game. The 33-year-old is starting to heat up, slashing .320/.430/.520 with a home run, five RBI, and five runs over his 30 plate appearances. Overall, Suarez is slashing .210/.308/.500 with 11 home runs, 26 RBI, 24 runs, and a stolen base over 39 games in 2025. Fantasy managers should continue to start Suarez in all leagues while he's having a strong May.
