15 hours agoNew York Giants rookie wide receiver Jalin Hyatt was barely there in the team's 24-3 drubbing at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football to close out Week 4 action. Hyatt caught both of his targets on the night for just 10 receiving yards. The only good news on this night was that Hyatt played a season-high 60 percent of the offensive snaps. He made some noise in New York's comeback win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2 with two receptions for 89 yards, but the 22-year-old has been very quiet otherwise in a Giants offense where no pass-catcher has stood out through four games. That probably won't change, either, until the G-Men get their offensive-line woes figured out and allow quarterback Daniel Jones more time in the pocket. Hyatt should only be stashed in dynasty/keeper leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com

15 hours agoNew York Giants wide receiver Parris Campbell has had a very disappointing start to his first season with the Giants, and that continued in Monday night's 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Campbell finished the embarrassing loss with three catches on five targets for a measly 15 receiving yards. None of New York's pass-catchers really had a chance in this one with quarterback Daniel Jones taking 11 sacks behind an incredibly beat up and suspect offensive line. The only good news for the 26-year-old is that he tied for second on the team with his five targets, trailing only Wan'Dale Robinson's six. Through four games, Campbell has 14 receptions on 21 targets for 62 yards and no TDs. For now, it's hard to recommend any Giants wideout as a starting lineup option in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com

15 hours agoNew England Patriots defensive end Matthew Judon (biceps) will have surgery on Wednesday to fix a torn right lower bicep and is expected to miss at least two months, according to a source. The team will know more after Judon's surgery about whether he has a chance to return this year. It's a big blow to the Patriots defense, and they also lost rookie first-round cornerback Christian Gonzalez in the Week 4 blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys when he dislocated his shoulder. Fantasy managers in IDP leagues that have Judon rostered should move on to other options and leave him to the waiver wire. The 31-year-old four-time Pro Bowler picked up 13 tackles (10 solo), four sacks, five tackles for loss and nine QB hits in the first four games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

15 hours agoLos Angeles Chargers tight end Donald Parham Jr. (wrist) suffered a sprained wrist in the Week 4 win over the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, according to a source. X-rays came back negative. Parham could make it back in Week 6 on Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys after the Chargers' Week 5 bye, but it's not a guarantee. If the 26-year-old is unable to make it back coming out of the bye week, Gerald Everett would become an even more enticing tight end streamer for fantasy lineups. Parham has just six receptions on eight targets through four games in 2023, but he's already tied his career-high with three touchdowns. When he returns, he'll once again be a touchdown-dependent TE2 in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

15 hours agoDetroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams is back from his four-game gambling suspension and will make his season debut in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers. Head coach Dan Campbell said Williams will likely be in a supporting role in his first game this Sunday at Ford Field. "If he does play, he can't play 60 plays," Campbell said. "That's not smart. So we can't do that to him." The No. 12 overall pick of the 2022 NFL draft played in just six games in his rookie year in his return from a serious knee injury, and he finished with one catch and one rushing attempt. Williams also missed more than two weeks of training camp with two different hamstring injuries, so fantasy managers that have been stashing him are going to need to be patient. But when the 22-year-old is fully immersed into the offense, he has the potential to be a big-play threat for an already explosive Lions offense.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

15 hours agoPhiladelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert ranks 28th among NFL tight ends in yards (88) through four games of the season and hasn't scored a touchdown yet. Since 2021 Goedert ranks fifth among NFL tight ends in receiving yards with 1,620, which makes his slow start this year more alarming. He leads the league since 2021 in average yards after the catch (6.8) and ranks second in yards per catch (13.1). The 28-year-old is currently averaging a career-low 6.8 yards per touch. The Eagles coaching staff wants to get Goedert more involved and expect him to get going soon. "Trust me — I promise you he's still part of the plan of us wanting to get him the football. We need to get him the football," head coach Nick Sirianni said.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Philadelphia Inquirer - Josh Tolentino

15 hours agoThe belief is that Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) is dealing with a mild hamstring injury that he suffered in the Week 4 win over the New Orleans Saints, according to sources. It bodes well for his return following the team's Week 5 bye, but he'll undergo an MRI exam on Tuesday to confirm it. Evans left the game in the second quarter on Sunday and never returned, finishing with three catches for 40 yards in the win. The 30-year-old was seen riding a stationary bike on the sidelines and was trying to return, but Tampa held him out as a precaution. The bye week comes at a perfect time for Evans and his fantasy managers, as he should be back out there in Week 6 against the visiting Detroit Lions on Sunday, Oct. 15.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

1 day agoSeattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett led the team in receptions, catching four passes for 54 yards. He, along with rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba, also saw the most targets on the team with six. Seattle's Week 4 victory over the New York Giants owed more to the defense than what the offense could produce. Not counting the two-play drive that started on the Giants' seven-yard line following a fumble recovery and resulted in a touchdown thrown to DK Metcalf, five of the Seahawks' 11 series lasted four plays or fewer and only two series lasted longer than three minutes. The Seahawks have a bye in Week 5 which may help the offense gel before heading to Cincinnati in Week 6.--Dan Stephens - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

1 day agoSeattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf found the end zone for the first time since Week 1 in Monday's 24-3 victory over the New York Giants. The touchdown reception came at the end of the first quarter after Seattle's defense forced a fumble on the Giants' seven-yard line. In Week 4, he caught a total of three passes on four targets for 34 receiving yards, all of his production coming in the first half. It was another game where Seattle's offense looked somewhat out of sync, though that may have had to do with the fact that they lost Geno Smith (knee) and both starting guards to injury before halftime. With a bye in Week 5, the Seahawks have some extra time to recover and get on the same page before taking on the Bengals in Week 6.--Dan Stephens - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

1 day agoSeattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III took 17 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown on Monday night against the New York Giants. His score made it the third consecutive week he reached the end zone. Walker nearly had a 73-yard touchdown on Seattle's first drive after he rolled over the top of his tackler, but the replay revealed that his elbow had touched the turf on the play, resulting in a two-yard loss. Walker also reasserted himself as the primary option in Seattle's backfield, logging 39 snaps to Zach Charbonnet's 13. The Seahawks have a bye in Week 5, but fantasy managers should plug Walker right back into their starting lineups when they return to action against the Bengals in Week 6.--Dan Stephens - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

1 day agoSeattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that quarterback Geno Smith (knee) twisted his knee in the 24-3 blowout win over the New York Giants on Monday night. Carroll said that Smith will probably be sore on Tuesday, but his injury isn't considered serious. Smith had to leave the game and was noticeably upset at the Giants defender that tackled him awkwardly out of bounds in the second quarter. But he returned for the start of the second half and finished the contest going 13-for-20 for 110 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions in the easy win. The 32-year-old was sacked twice for a loss of 13 yards. Smith wasn't really asked to do much in this one and produced a disappointing line for his fantasy managers. He'll have ample time to rest his knee with the bye coming in Week 5 before a Week 6 tilt on the road in Cincinnati against the Bengals.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Seahawks.com - John Boyle

1 day agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) is considered day-to-day before practice begins for Week 5 versus the Dallas Cowboys, per Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com. Mitchell missed Sunday's easy win against the Arizona Cardinals with a right knee injury after taking on his largest workload of the year (14 touches) in Week 3. The 25-year-old suffered the setback during last Thursday's practice in the same knee he sustained an MCL sprain in last year, costing him nine games. Though, a day-to-day designation certainly leaves the door open for him to return soon. Mitchell saw Jordan Mason flip four touches into 23 yards as the change-of-pace back in his stead while Christian McCaffrey broke Sunday's slate for 177 scrimmage yards and four touchdowns. Mitchell hasn't done much with 16 carries this year, but he remains one of fantasy's highest-upside handcuffs behind the oft-injured McCaffrey.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

1 day agoPittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth (hamstring) is expected to miss two-to-three weeks, per Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Freiermuth suffered a hamstring injury during Week 4's loss to the Houston Texans, and this development coincides with a previous report that he isn't dealing with just a tweak. The 24-year-old is currently labeled as questionable for Week 5 against the Baltimore Ravens, but he should be deemed closer to the doubtful side of that tag based on this timetable. Pittsburgh has a Week 6 bye, so perhaps fantasy managers can circle Week 7 (Oct. 22) as a reasonable Freiermuth return date. Third-round rookie Darnell Washington, a freak athlete out of Georgia, could be in for an augmented role if Freiermuth indeed misses time, but he wouldn't be a recommended streamer against a Ravens defense allowing the third-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends in 2023.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

1 day agoNew York Giants wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson snagged five of his six targets for 40 yards and added one rush for seven yards in the team's 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. The second-year receiver led the Giants in targets on the night. It's not an amazing stat line, but this is just his second game back from an ACL tear suffered in his rookie season. As he continues to play more snaps, Robinson may emerge as Daniel Jones' top receiving option on an offense that lacks playmakers. The former second-round pick is worth a roster spot in standard-sized leagues, especially in PPR formats, to see if he continues to produce as his playing time increases.--Andrew Ball - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
1 day agoIndianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen says that tight end Jelani Woods (hamstring) will remain on injured reserve this week, per Nate Atkins of The Indianapolis Star. Woods' hamstring injury cost him the entire preseason and he doesn't appear to be ready to take practice reps quite yet, either. The 2022 third-round pick flashed at times in his rookie season, ultimately securing 25 out of 40 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games. Even so, Woods belongs on fantasy waiver wires with his return not exactly seeming imminent. Kylen Granson has acted as Indianapolis' primary tight end with 11 catches for 88 yards and a score, but Drew Ogletree generated 48 yards while visiting the end zone in Week 4. There's not much to see here for fantasy purposes in most leagues.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
