Julio Urias was charged with five misdemeanors stemming from his arrest in 2023 on suspicion of domestic violence last September, according to a spokesperson from the LA City Attorney's office. The charges include one count of spousal battery, two counts of domestic battery involving dating relationship, one count of false imprisonment and one count of assault. An arraignment is scheduled for May 2. The 27-year-old southpaw spent the rest of last year on administrative leave with the Dodgers before his contract expired in early November. Urias was not signed by a team this past offseason and could face discipline eventually from the league. He was suspended for 20 games in 2019 after being arrested but not charged on misdemeanor suspicion of domestic violence. It's very possible we won't ever see him pitch in the big leagues again.

Wade Miley (shoulder) set to make his 2024 MLB debut on Wednesday night against the Reds. Ashby should be back with Milwaukee at some point down the road this year, but fantasy baseball managers should temper expectations for him after he had season-ending left-shoulder surgery in April of 2023.

Wade Miley (shoulder) is scheduled to come off the injured list to make his season debut on Wednesday night versus the Reds on the road in Cincinnati. Miley threw 55 pitches for Triple-A Nashville in his final minor-league rehab start and gave up one run on two hits while walking two and striking out three. The 37-year-old southpaw's first start in the big leagues this year with Milwaukee will be an abbreviated start, which means that fantasy baseball managers looking for a low-cost streaming option on Wednesday should avoid him, especially in the difficult matchup in a hitter-friendly ballpark. Miley isn't your typical swing-and-miss pitcher. Instead, he relies on generating soft contact and keeping hitters off balance. Injuries have been an issue as he ages, too, so he's mostly a fantasy option in NL-only leagues.

Josiah Gray (elbow) said his elbow/forearm strain is muscular after his MRI exam showed no structural damage to his elbow ligament. Gray spoke up quickly after experiencing discomfort in his right elbow in his last start and is hoping that helped this from being a more serious injury. The 26-year-old will miss at least the next two weeks after being put on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday. It's been a tough start for Gray in 2024 after he made his first All-Star team in 2023, as he's currently sporting a 14.04 ERA with nine strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings over his first two starts this year.
Joan Adon was recalled from Triple-A and will take Gray's spot in the starting rotation for now and start against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.

CJ Abrams (finger) is back at shortstop and is batting leadoff on Tuesday against left-hander
Kyle Harrison and the Giants in San Francisco. A bone bruise in Abrams' left pinkie finger kept him out of action for the last three games, but it was never considered a very serious injury. Fantasy baseball managers in single-year leagues will want to get the 23-year-old back into their lineups. The former sixth overall pick of the San Diego Padres in 2019 could easily break out in his second full season in D.C. this year. Abrams was off to a strong start in his first seven games before injuring his pinkie, going 9-for-28 (.321) with two home runs, a triple, five RBI, three stolen bases and five runs scored in 32 plate appearances. He's never faced Harrison yet in his MLB career.

Ketel Marte is getting a day off on Tuesday with the team facing the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. This will be Marte's first game off of the season after he started in each of the team's first 11 games, going 13-for-46 (.283) with three home runs, seven RBI, a stolen base and 11 runs scored in 53 plate appearances. Marte has gone hitless in his last nine trips to the plate, though. He should be back in the lineup on Wednesday for the series finale in Colorado.
Jace Peterson is starting at second and is batting sixth in the lineup on Tuesday versus Rockies right-hander
Cal Quantrill. Peterson has little DFS upside as a sleeper and is hitless in his only career at-bat against Quantrill.

Tyler Nevin is replacing him at first base and will hit seventh against Rangers right-hander
Nathan Eovaldi. If Noda is dealing with an injury, we'll update you. The 28-year-old left-handed-hitting first baseman is off to a slow start for the A's in his second major-league season, going 7-for-33 (.212) with a double, no home runs, only one RBI, three runs scored, five walks and 12 strikeouts in his first 10 games. Nevin is a career .203 hitter with five homers and 29 RBI in 108 games in his major-league career and shouldn't be a popular sleeper consideration for DFS lineups on Tuesday. He's gone hitless in his three career at-bats against Eovaldi.

Jhoan Duran (oblique) is itching to get back out there and said he's hoping to throw his first bullpen session on Friday. Duran was forced to open the 2024 regular season on the injured list with an oblique injury, but he's been throwing pain-free on flat ground and is getting close to throwing off a mound. Once he gets there, the 26-year-old might not need long before he's able to make his season debut for the Twins. Duran should be rostered in all fantasy baseball leagues and stashed in an IL spot in the meantime. The Dominican hurler will be the Twins' unquestioned closer when he's back after posting a 2.15 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP, 35 saves, 41 walks and 173 strikeouts in 130 innings in his first two big-league seasons.

Yoan Moncada (groin) was removed early during Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Moncada has been dealing with a lingering issue since the start of the season. The expectation is that he'll join teammates
Eloy Jimenez and
Luis Robert Jr. on the injured list. The White Sox are likely to have Moncada undergo further testing before making any moves.

Corey Seager (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Fantasy managers don't need to worry as this appears to be a routine rest day for Seager. He's off to an excellent start, batting .368 with one home run and five RBI in nine games.

Noah Schultz will look to build off an impressive first start when he makes his second start of this season this week for High-A Winston Salem. Schultz, 20, was dominant in his first outing and struck out 10 batters to go along with two hits, no runs and no walks over 4 innings. The 20-year-old lefty has been one of the very few bright spots that is employed by the White Sox franchise, but has dealt with a series of injuries since being drafted in 2022. At 6'9, Schultz has a tall frame and a nasty slider to go along with a plus fastball and changeup. He could rise quickly with good health, but his best bet in 2024 is in dynasty leagues.

J.D. Martinez (back) will be shut down for three to five days after receiving a cortisone shot. The veteran slugger is dealing with lower back tightness, so hopefully this shot and rest will help him. Martinez wasn't expected to join the Mets this week, but this news means his season debut will be pushed back further. The Mets should give an update on his timetable in a few days.

Marco Luciano has been off to a hot start for Triple-A Sacramento. The 22-year-old was with the team this spring in the Cactus League, but struggled and was demoted to Triple-A to get more seasoning. He has always had a strong glove, but his hitting has needed to catch up and that hasn't been a problem early on in the season. In his first eight games, Luciano has hit a sparkling .375 with three doubles, four RBI, nine walks and 11 strikeouts. The near 1:1 walk to strikeout ratio is important as Luciano has been prone to doubling his strikeout to walk rate historically. Despite his aggressiveness, Luciano has very good bat speed and can hit for power with double-digit homers in all four of his professional seasons. If Luciano can become a more patient hitter, he has all the tools to help fantasy managers. For now, he is best served in dynasty leagues.

Max Scherzer (back) threw a bullpen session without any issues on Tuesday. The plan is for Scherzer to progress to facing live hitters in a batting practice session next week. The 39-year-old remains without a timetable to return, but the expectation is that Scherzer is back before the start of June. That being said, Scherzer is worth stashing in deeper mixed leagues while he continues to make progress in his recovery from back surgery.
