The Tampa Bay Rays placed infielder Yandy Diaz on the restricted list on Tuesday and recalled infielder Coco Montes from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move, according to the Tampa Bay Times' Marcread more...

Houston Astros manager Joe Espada said that designated hitter Yordan Alvarez (hand) will not come off the 10-day injured list to rejoin the starting lineup on Tuesday night against the visiting Kansas City Royals. However, Alvarez is trending in the right direction and is expected to rejoin the club soon, possible for Thursday's series opener in Texas against the division-rival Rangers. The 27-year-old landed on the IL with a muscle strain in his right hand that could be the primary culprit for the three-time All-Star's slow start in 2025. Jose Altuve is serving as the DH on Tuesday, while Chas McCormick is making the start in left field and batting ninth against Royals left-hander Kris Bubic. Fantasy managers hope Alvarez can turn things around when he's back after starting with a .210/.306/.340 slash line and a .646 OPS in his first 100 at-bats.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Sports Talk 790 - Matt Thomas

The Washington Nationals placed second baseman Luis Garcia Jr. on the paternity list on Tuesday and recalled infielder Trey Lipscomb from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move, according to The Washington Post's Andrew Golden. Garcia is welcoming a new addition into his family this week and is expected to miss the entire series against the division-rival Atlanta Braves before rejoining the club on Friday before their series opener against the Baltimore Orioles. After a breakout in 2024, the 24-year-old has mostly disappointed in his first 38 games in 2025, going 30-for-133 (.226) with three home runs, six doubles, 13 RBI, six steals and 18 runs scored as the Nats' primary second baseman. While he's out for a few games, expect Washington to use veteran Amed Rosario as the fill-in at the keystone. Rosario makes plenty of contact and is hitting .282 (20-for-71), but he doesn't offer much else in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Washington Post - Andrew Golden

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder/designated hitter Anthony Santander (shoulder) is serving as the DH and is hitting third for Toronto on Tuesday against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays and right-hander Shane Baz at Rogers Centre. Santander miss the three-game sweep over the Seattle Mariners over the weekend with a shoulder injury that he suffered last Thursday. The 30-year-old veteran switch-hitter is back in action on Tuesday, though, and will be looking to get his season average up over .200. Fantasy managers probably aren't in a rush to get him back into their starting lineups, although he does bring a modest three-game hitting streak into Tuesday's action after going 5-for-14 with a homer, four RBI and a run scored in last week's series against the Los Angeles Angels. Santander is hitless in his six career at-bats against Baz.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

The Chicago White Sox plan to use right-hander Jonathan Cannon as their bulk reliever on Tuesday against the hosting Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park after left-handed opener Brandon Eisert. It will be the second time this year that Eisert has been the opener, with his first coming on April 27 against the Athletics, when he allowed one run on two hits in an inning in an eventual 3-2 loss. Cannon last served in a bulk-relief role after an opener on April 29 against the A's and allowed three earned runs in 7 2/3 innings for a quality start and his longest outing of 2025. The 24-year-old former third-rounder in 2022 out of Georgia has a solid 3.30 ERA in his last five outings, but he well below-average 17.3% strikeout rate in his two MLB seasons and will be facing a dangerous Reds offense in a hitter-friendly ballpark.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: SI.com - Jack Ankony

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in Monday's 5-2 win over the Marlins. It was the 30-year-old's 10th home run of the season but first since May 1. The Japanese slugger's bat has gone cold over the last week and a half, going 5-for-43 (.116) over the last 10 games and seeing his batting average drop from .295 to .245 after Monday's game. He's having a fine season for fantasy overall hitting third in the Cubs' lineup, collecting 34 RBI and scoring 22 times, although one steal is a bit of a letdown after swiping 16 last season. Still, the right-handed hitters owns a .351 wOBA and 126 wRC+, and should continue to produce with a 16.0 percent barrel rate and 50.0 percent hard-hit rate.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

The Athletic's Matt Gelb reports that Tuesday's contest at Citizens Bank Park between the St. Louis Cardinals and hosting Philadelphia Phillies has been postponed due to inclement weather. The two teams will try to play a split doubleheader on Wednesday at 1:05 pm ET and 6:15 pm ET. Left-hander Jesus Luzardo was scheduled to take the mound for the home team on Tuesday while being opposed by Cardinals veteran right-hander Sonny Gray. Fantasy managers should expect both Luzardo and Gray to pitch in one of the two games of the doubleheader on Wednesday. If you haven't already done so in fantasy leagues that allow daily lineup changes, remove all position players from both teams from your lineups for Tuesday's slate.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Matt Gelb

The Baltimore Orioles announced that their game on Tuesday at Camden Yards against the visiting Minnesota Twins has been postponed due to inclement weather. The contest will be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader on Wednesday, May 14, with the first game set to start at 12:05 pm ET. Left-hander Cade Povich was set to take the mound for the Orioles, while right-hander Simeon Woods-Richardson was in line to start on the hill for Minnesota. While nothing is official, fantasy managers should expect those two pitchers to be moved back to one of the games of the twin bill on Wednesday. If you haven't already done so, remove all position players from either team from your starting fantasy lineups for Tuesday's slate.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Baltimore Orioles

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Zyhir Hope jumped 21 spots on MLB.com's latest refresh of their top-100 prospect list, moving from No. 66 overall to No. 45. The 2023 11th-round draft pick spent most of his time at Single-A in 2024, slashing .287/.415/.490 with nine home runs and eight stolen bases in 54 games, then went on to hit five home runs and collect 21 RBI over 23 games in the Arizona Fall League as a 19-year-old. The now-20-year-old is off to a good start at High-A this year, slashing .286/.375/.516 with six home runs and four stolen bases through 33 games, which should earn him a promotion to Double-A later this season. MLB.com's scouting report indicates the left-handed slugger has the potential to be a 30-home run hitter in the majors, meaning he should be all over dynasty managers' fantasy radar, although he's not expected to arrive for another couple of years.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect Logan Henderson is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to be the starter for Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. The former fourth-round draft pick has pitched well in the minors this season, and after giving up five earned runs in his first start this season, the righty has posted a 1.04 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, and a fantastic 25.2 percent K-BB% in the five appearances since (26 IP). The 23-year-old also already made one start for the Brewers earlier this season, and it was an impressive one, yielding just one earned run on three hits and a walk while striking out nine batters over six innings of work against the Athletics. This makes him an intriguing DFS option, and he could be a speculative add in deeper season-long leagues in hopes he can stick in the rotation this time around.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: Curt Hogg

Washington Nationals shortstop prospect Luke Dickerson has been promoted to Single-A Fredericksburg. The 2024 second-round draft pick debuted this season with the team's Florida Complex League affiliate, going 6-for-22 (.273) with one home run, a stolen base, and a 4:4 K:BB in 26 plate appearances. The 19-year-old has 60-grade speed according to MLB.com's scouting report, so that'll be something to keep an eye on at the next level. The right-handed slugger also has some good pop and already slots in as the Nats' sixth-ranked prospect. Dickerson is still a few years away from the majors, so fantasy managers will want to see him continue to perform well as he ascends before considering him in dynasty leagues.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: Andrew Golden

Chicago White Sox pitching prospect Grant Taylor has made six starts so far at Double-A Birmingham, but is expected to get some work out of the bullpen over the remainder of the season as a way of managing his workload. The team is exercising caution as the righty missed all of 2023 with Tommy John surgery and a lat injury limited the former second-round draft pick to just 16 IP at Single-A in 2024. In his six starts this season, the 6-foot-3 hurler owns a 1.56 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and a 13.0 percent K-BB%, which could be higher if not for a gaudy 14.5 percent walk rate. Nevertheless, assuming his health holds up, the 22-year-old could make a push for a debut in the majors next season. While he could be a solid starter in the majors, he's not a stash candidate in dynasty leagues at the moment.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: Scott Merkin
