Jonathan Cannon To Serve As Bulk Reliever On Tuesday
Jonathan Cannon as their bulk reliever on Tuesday against the hosting Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park after left-handed opener Brandon Eisert. It will be the second time this year that Eisert has been the opener, with his first coming on April 27 against the Athletics, when he allowed one run on two hits in an inning in an eventual 3-2 loss. Cannon last served in a bulk-relief role after an opener on April 29 against the A's and allowed three earned runs in 7 2/3 innings for a quality start and his longest outing of 2025. The 24-year-old former third-rounder in 2022 out of Georgia has a solid 3.30 ERA in his last five outings, but he well below-average 17.3% strikeout rate in his two MLB seasons and will be facing a dangerous Reds offense in a hitter-friendly ballpark.
