Roman Anthony went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a walk, and three runs scored on Thursday for Triple-A Worcester. The shoulder soreness that he was reportedly dealing with recently, which limited him to DH duties, appears to be a thing of the past, as he was out patrolling right field on Thursday. The 20-year-old has now hit safely in 12 of his last 14 games, with seven of those going down as multi-hit efforts, and is now slashing .308/.444/.590 with five home runs and a pair of stolen bases over 22 games. Boston's top prospect (MLB No. 2) continues to march towards a major league debut, so fantasy managers who still have an available bench spot should stash the 6-foot-3 slugger before it is too late.

Seattle Mariners relief pitcher
Andres Munoz locked down his ninth save of the season on Thursday, pitching a scoreless ninth in a 4-3 win over the Red Sox. He struck out two and walked one. This extended his scoreless streak to 13 innings, as he hasn't given up a single run all season. He is also maintaining a 0.85 WHIP with 17 strikeouts, making him one of the most dominant relievers in baseball so far in 2025. His nine saves are tied for second-most in the league, and there will be plenty more to come as he has a firm hold on the closing role for Seattle.

Miami Marlins outfield prospect
Jakob Marsee went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two stolen bases on Thursday for Triple-A Jacksonville. The 23-year-old has now hit safely in nine of the last 11 games, going 12-for-37 (.324) over that stretch, slashing .240/.412/.427 on the year. A strong walk rate of 17.0 percent has provided that elite OBP, which has in turn allowed him to unleash his stolen base prowess, now with 18 after Thursday's game, which is the most in Triple-A by far. Fantasy managers in NL-only leagues that are in need of steals should keep an eye out for a promotion in the coming months, as the former Arizona Fall League MVP could provide a boost as soon as he arrives.

Jeff McNeil (oblique) has been activated from the 10-day injured list on Thursday. McNeil appears to be ready for the weekend series after missing the beginning of the season due to an oblique issue. The veteran infielder hit .393 during his rehab assignment, so hopefully he can keep the good times rolling on the big league roster. The assumption is that McNeil will see regular playing time against right-handed pitching. Fellow infielder
Brett Baty was optioned to Triple-A to make room for McNeil on the active roster. It sounds like McNeil should play quite frequently, but fantasy managers can still take a wait-and-see approach here.

Brett Baty has been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday. Well, this was expected with fellow infielder
Jeff McNeil (oblique) being activated from the 10-day injured list. Someone needed to be sent down and Baty seemed like the good choice considering his struggles. So far, Baty is slashing .205/.246/.352 with one home run, four RBI, and a 19/3 K/BB ratio this season. The Mets are hopeful that Baty can still be an everyday contributor at some point. For now, Baty will head back to the minors to get everyday at-bats in Triple-A.

Zack Gelof (wrist) appears to be inching closer to a return to the field. Gelof hasn't played at all this season after suffering a right wrist injury during spring training. As a result, Gelof underwent surgery, which has kept him sidelined until now. Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said Gelof could begin a rehab assignment as early as next Tuesday. The expectation is Gelof is going to need around 35-40 at-bats before returning to the A's roster. That means, Gelof will probably be on a rehab assignment for around two weeks. Fantasy managers should expect him back in the fold around mid-May. Until then,
Luis Urias figures to be the primary option at second base.

San Francisco Giants relief pitcher
Ryan Walker has been struggling over the last few outings. Walker allowed only one earned run over his first eight innings of the season. Now, Walker has allowed six earned runs in 0.2 innings over his last two outings.
Camilo Doval has earned the last three saves for San Francisco, while Walker got a break. However, manager Bob Melvin said that Walker is going to come into the game if the Giants have a save chance on Friday. Fantasy managers should continue to hold Walker in the hopes that this was just a few bad outings. It would also be smart for fantasy managers who picked up Doval to keep him for a little longer.

Texas Rangers starting pitcher
Kumar Rocker (shoulder) has been placed on the 15-day injured list on Thursday. This comes a day after Rocker gave up five runs over 1 2/3 innings of work during Wednesday's game against the Athletics. Rangers' manager Bruce Bochy said Rocker is dealing with a mild right shoulder impingement. The young right-hander has only made it through the fifth inning once so far this season. He has a ton of potential, but a little time off might be good for him.
Jack Leiter (hand) is expected to rejoin the rotation soon, so he'll likely take over the void in the rotation.

Brent Rooker will take a day off for the first time this season in Thursday's contest against the division-rival Texas Rangers. The left-handed-hitting
Seth Brown will serve as the DH and will hit sixth against Rangers right-hander
Jacob deGrom. Brown has only faced deGrom twice in his career, but he did take him deep for a solo home run. Rooker is hitting .235 (24-for-102) on the year -- he's probably not going to be much of an average or on-base asset for fantasy managers -- but he does have seven long balls, 13 RBI and 15 runs scored in his first 24 games of the 2025 season. The 30-year-old power threat has been much more consistent of late, going 11-for-33 with three homers, a double and five RBI in his last eight games. Expect Rooker to be back in action for Friday's series opener against the Chicago White Sox.

Bryan Woo had a quality start and picked up his third win of the season in the team's 4-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park on Thursday. Woo went six strong innings and gave up two earned runs on three hits (one homer) while walking only one and striking out a season-high eight batters. This makes four quality starts for Woo in his first five outings of the 2025 season, and he dropped his season ERA to 3.09 with the strong performance in Thursday's series finale in Beantown. The 25-year-old has been sharp with a 0.97 WHIP, 30 strikeouts and seven walks in the early going in 2025. Fantasy managers will want to keep him in their starting lineups when he faces the division-rival Los Angeles Angels next week.

Cade Cavalli (elbow) is moving his minor-league rehab assignment to Double-A Harrisburg and will make his next start on Thursday. In his first rehab start while recovering from Tommy John surgery, Cavalli threw four shutout innings with one hit allowed, two walks and three strikeouts for Single-A Fredericksburg. The former first-rounder made his major-league debut back in 2022 with the Nationals but allowed seven earned runs in 4 1/3 innings in his lone start before missing most of the last two seasons due to right-elbow issues. Because of his extended layoff, the 26-year-old is likely going to spend all 30 days on his rehab assignment before the Nationals decide what to do with him. When he's ready to come off the 15-day injured list, there's a good chance Cavalli will be sent to Triple-A Rochester.

Paul DeJong (nose) saw an eye specialist on Thursday who found no issues. However, DeJong will undergo surgery to fix his broken nose. Manager Dave Martinez didn't offer a timetable for DeJong's eventual return after he was hit by a pitch back on April 15. In addition to his injury, the 31-year-old veteran has had a rough start at the plate in his first year with the Nats, going 11-for-54 (.204) with no home runs, four doubles, two RBI, two stolen bases, two walks and 24 strikeouts in his 16 games played. The Athletic's Dan Hayes reports that Minnesota Twins third baseman
Royce Lewis (hamstring) will begin his minor-league rehab assignment on Friday with the Triple-A St. Paul Saints. Things were trending this way after Lewis didn't have any setbacks after sprinting on Monday and running the bases on Tuesday. Because the oft-injured 25-year-old has been out of action since the middle of March in spring training with a left-hamstring strain, his rehab assignment could be longer than normal, but there's also a chance he'll come off the injured list to rejoin the big-league roster at some point later next week. The Kansas City Royals announced that left-hander
Cole Ragans (groin) was pulled from his outing in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the visiting Colorado Rockies on Thursday due to groin tightness. Ragans only made it three innings in the eventual 7-4 win, giving up four earned runs on three hits (two homers allowed) while walking two and striking out four for a no-decision. The 27-year-old southpaw will most likely go for additional testing, and fantasy managers should probably prepare for the worst, which would mean Ragans landing on the 15-day injured list. If his groin injury is minor, Ragans is lined up to make his next start next week against the Tampa Bay Rays. The former first-rounder came into Thursday's outing with a 3.58 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 42:7 K:BB in 27 2/3 innings over his five starts. Check back on Friday morning for an update on the severity of his groin injury.
