Nolan Arenado Not In Tuesday's Lineup
6 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado is taking the day off on Tuesday against the hosting Miami Marlins. Amidst his recent slump, Arenado will head to the bench after going 3-for-20 in his last five games, including an 0-for-6 performance in the team's extra-inning win on Monday. The 33-year-old veteran's recent cold stretch has dropped his season slash line to .256/.310/.372. Arenado has added six home runs, 32 RBI and 25 runs scored for a disappointing Cardinals squad this year. In the month of June, Arenado has gone 15-for-60 (.250) with a homer, three doubles, six RBI, five walks and 12 strikeouts in 16 games played. With Arenado resting on Tuesday, veteran Brandon Crawford will take over at the hot corner and will bat eighth against Marlins right-hander Roddery Munoz.
