No Timetable For Alex Verdugo
5 years agoBoston Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke said that the team still doesn't have a timetable on outfielder Alex Verdugo (back). Verdugo is running outside and also threw for the first time since September on Thursday. It sounds like he's making some progress from a stress fracture in his back, but it seems more likely than not that Verdugo will start the season on the injured list. The young left-handed hitter will have tremendous upside in another strong lineup in Boston with everyday playing time when he's healthy. Fantasy owners will be hesitant to select him in drafts now, but he could come at a nice discount if he doesn't miss much time. Kevin Pillar stands to benefit the most if Verdugo isn't ready by Opening Day.
