8/18:Buffalo Bills quarterback Nathan Peterman is now fully in the hunt for the starter's role. A.J. McCarron's early-game shoulder injury Friday against the Cleveland Browns has appeared to clear a path for either Peterman or strong-armed rookie Josh Allen to take on Week 1 duties. Peterman, although extremely limited, (two games started in 2017 rookie season, 24-for-49 for 252 yards, two scores, five interceptions) has more in-game experience then Allen and perhaps has more playbook knowledge than the younger Allen. Peterman's performance in the 19-17 victory can only enhance his chances for this open competition. He was eight of 10 for 113 yards, a score and no interceptions. Allen's skill set is superior to the more conservative Peterman (comparatively speaking of course). The next two preseason games will be crucial in determining the starter. At this point, given the fact that these players are still developing, neither QB should be considered in 12-team standard leagues.--Joel Dorcas
