Major League Baseball announced on Friday that spring training games won't begin until at least March 5. "We regret that, without a collective bargaining agreement in place, we must postpone the start of spring training games," a statement said. "All 30 clubs are unified in their strong desire to bring players back to the field and fans back to the stands." The league and Players Association will meet again on Monday and each day after that moving forward to try and get a new collective bargaining agreement hammered out so that the regular season can start on time on March 31. Spring camps were scheduled to open this week, with games starting on Feb. 26. The two sides remain far apart on several issues, including revenue sharing, service time for players entering the arbitration system, the amount of money in the pre-arbitration bonus pool and thresholds and penalties for the competitive balance tax.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
