New Jersey Devils forward Miles Wood picked up three assists on Sunday, registering two goals and an assist in a win over the Sabres. Wood came into the game with five points on the season, and without a goal in nearly two weeks, but pulled himself into a tie with Jack Hughes for most points on the Devils after today's performance. After just barely missing the 20-goal plateau three seasons ago, Wood saw a drop off in his goals per game rate and shooting percentage but has rediscovered his scoring touch this year with a 20.8 percent shooting percentage across nine games. That conversion rate sits well above his career average (8.6 percent) and his career-best (11.2 percent), so regression is almost certainly coming for him in a big way, but a career-best 2.67 shots per game rate could help him hold on to that hot streak for a bit longer. Wood should only be looked at in deeper leagues and as a value play in daily formats, but with his hot start, a 20-goal pace is not out of the question.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
