Miles Sanders 2020 Outlook: An RB2 With Inconsistencies
5 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders is a talented player who could struggle to justify his current draft position as the 16th overall pick in fantasy drafts. While the Penn State product had several big games against middling defenses to end last season, his touches and fantasy production were both wildly inconsistent. The rookie saw less than 13 rushing attempts in 11 games last season, averaging only 55 offensive yards (rushing and receiving) and scoring only two offensive touchdowns. Sanders saw 14-plus offensive touches (targets and rushes) in 11 games last season, and he scored 12-plus fantasy points in only four of them. Worse yet, Sanders saw only six touches within five yards of the goal-line, and he totaled negative rushing yards in those situations. These numbers indicate that this Nittany Lion needs both volume and big plays to be a fantasy starter. While Sanders does have the talent and passing game involvement to be a solid RB2 in PPR re-drafts and a top-20 overall pick in dynasty PPR leagues, he should be going behind Josh Jacobs and Tyreek Hill instead of ahead of them.
