Mike Williams To Miss Time With High-Ankle Sprain
2 years agoTests on Monday revealed that Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (ankle) suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks and "will miss some time," according to a source. The Athletic's Daniel Popper reports that head coach Brandon Staley said Williams will miss "weeks not days." The good news is that the Chargers are on bye in Week 8, but there's a good chance that the 28-year-old won't be ready when the Bolts in Week 9 to face the Atlanta Falcons on Nov. 6. High-ankle sprains can take anywhere from two to five weeks to recover from. Depending on the health of the rest of LA's receiving corps, Keenan Allen, DeAndre Carter and Joshua Palmer (concussion) are most likely to be the team's top three receivers for however much time Williams misses.
