Mike Trout Hits Against Minor-League Pitcher
Mike Trout (knee) hit against a minor-league pitcher on Wednesday and also ran the bases more aggressively than on Tuesday, but not 100%, according to the Orange County Register's Jeff Fletcher. Trout is getting closer to being able to go on a minor-league rehab assignment after landing on the injured list back on May 2 with a bone bruise in his surgically repaired left knee. The Angels aren't going to rest the 33-year-old back to the big-league roster, considering all of the injuries he's dealt with in recent seasons. But barring a setback with his knee, we should see Trout back in early April. Even though the three-time MVP and 11-time All-Star was hitting a career-worst .179 with a near-30% strikeout rate in 29 games before his injury, he needs to be stashed in all fantasy formats for his power (nine homers).
