Mike Trout 2023 Player Outlook: Plenty Of Elite Fantasy Upside
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout has plenty of elite fantasy upside heading into next season. The 31-year-old isn't stealing bases like he used to but still hit .283 last season with a .369 on-base percentage, 40 home runs, and stolen base in 499 plate appearances this past season. As per usual, Trout was elite in terms of most underlying metrics, finishing in the 96th percentile or better in hard-hit rate, xwOBA, barrel rate, and xSLG. Pair the ability to make elite contact with an improved Angels roster that should help with counting stats like RBI and runs scored, and you have a recipe for a potentially league-winning fantasy season. Anthony Rendon will return to the Angels lineup next season, which will also welcome offseason additions Hunter Renfroe and Gio Urshela, positioning Trout for yet another potentially elite fantasy season.
