Michael Soroka Could Start Friday
1 year agoMLB.com's Mark Bowman is guessing that Atlanta Braves right-hander Michael Soroka will be called up to start this Friday against the Miami Marlins. It would allow the Braves to give Charlie Morton and Spencer Strider an extra day of rest before starts against the Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays. Kolby Allard (oblique) is coming off the injured list to start on Wednesday in the series finale against the Minnesota Twins. The 25-year-old Soroka had an ERA north of 8.00 in his two starts for the Braves earlier this year, but he's righted the ship at Triple-A Gwinnett and has a 1.42 ERA with 18 strikeouts over three starts since being sent to the minors earlier this month. Soroka is worth a speculatory pickup off the waiver wire in deep-mixed leagues.
