Michael Kopech Needs Tommy John Surgery
Michael Kopech (elbow) has an ulnar collateral ligament tear in his elbow, and the recommendation is that he needs Tommy John surgery. That's a big blow to the White Sox future, as Kopech was expected to be a building block for the rotation in 2019 and beyond. It looks like MLB's No. 13 prospect overall will have to miss all of next season. Aside from a disastrous seven-run outing against the Tigers his last time out, Kopech had looked good in his first three major league starts. He should still be stashed in dynasty leagues if you have the room, despite this bad news.
