6/27:New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto has played much better as of late but still was not hitting for any power. On Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, that changed. In a 4-3 victory, Conforto finished 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and a walk. It was Conforto’s first home run since June 16 and his 10th of the season. Conforto had a seven-game hitting streak snapped in an 0-for-3 effort on Monday (but did walk twice), so it was great to see the 25-year-old rebound with a long ball in this one. We’re still hesitant to buy here, but there’s no doubt the arrow is trending upward for Conforto.--John Smith
