Mets to Send Kodai Senga to Minors?
Kodai Senga, including potentially asking him to accept an optional minor-league assignment, according to people familiar with the team's thinking. However, Senga may not be sent to the minors without his consent, according to his contract. The 32-year-old said on Tuesday that he's willing to do whatever it takes for him to get better and help the team. Another option would be for the Mets to send Senga to the bullpen to try and get him right for the playoffs. He was the runner-up for the National League Rookie of the Year and was an All-Star in 2023. Senga had a 1.39 ERA through his first 14 outings this year, but he's posted a 6.56 ERA in 35 2/3 innings since, and the Mets have plenty of rotation options right now, especially with rookies Nolan McLean and Jonah Tong looking good.
