Melvin Gordon III An RB1 To Close Out The Season
4 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III was the team's big offseason acquisition, but he's mostly been a frustrating RB2/3 for fantasy managers in 2020 because of a maddening timeshare with Phillip Lindsay. Lindsay had a few moments in the middle of the year, but he's played through injury for the majority of the season and Gordon has thoroughly outplayed him more often than not. The 27-year-old will enter a Week 17 matchup with the Raiders with 893 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 189 carries, adding 28 catches for 141 yards and a TD. He'll have RB1 value with Lindsay on Injured Reserve while facing a Raiders defense that has allowed the third-most fantasy points per game to the position, including 17 touchdowns. Gordon has made his case all year for a larger workload, and he should get it to close out 2020.
