Max Scherzer Starting Game 3 Sunday
5 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer will get the ball in Game 3 of the National League Division Series at home against the Dodgers on Sunday. Scherzer struggled in the wild-card win over the Brewers on Tuesday, allowing three runs (two home runs) in five innings. A bounce-back performance could easily be in the cards, though, for a pitcher that posted a 2.92 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 243 strikeouts in 172 1/3 innings (27 starts) in the regular season. He'll be facing one of the toughest lineups in baseball, but Scherzer usually doesn't have two bad starts in a row very often.
