Maverick McNealy Riding Hot Putter To John Deere Classic
6 months agoThe golf community is gearing up for a second-straight putting contest at the John Deere Classic, and Maverick McNealy will surely be on the radar of many fantasy managers as a result. The 28-year-old Stanford alum enters the week on the heels of five consecutive made cuts, a string of events in which he's posted three finishes inside of the top-25. He's also gained over four strokes putting in back-to-back events, a feat he's only accomplished one other time in his 5-year PGA Tour career. You won't find many other golfers with better course history either, as McNealy has posted finishes of T18 and T8 in his only two starts at TPC Deere Run. Last week marked the first time he lost strokes ball-striking since the Valspar Championship back in March. If McNealy can match his recent ball-striking form with his elite putting prowess, it's quite possible he could land his first PGA Tour victory when all is said and done on Sunday.
