Matt Ryan Won't Practice Again This Week
2 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Ryan (shoulder) won't practice again this week due to his right shoulder injury. Injury issues aside, the Colts said last week that they have benched Ryan for the rest of the year in favor of Sam Ehlinger. It's highly likely that Ryan will be inactive for the Week 9 contest against the New England Patriots, and he's not expected to start again in 2022 unless something happens to Ehlinger. If Ryan is inactive again this weekend, veteran Nick Foles would again serve as Ehlinger's backup. The 37-year-old Ryan had nine touchdowns and a league-high nine interceptions in seven games played before being benched in what has become a mess of a Colts offense. Indy also fired offensive coordinator Marcus Brady this week.
