Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Matthew Murray (undisclosed) will be placed on long-term Injured Reserve ahead of the 2023-2024 NHL season. The team has ruled him out indefinitely while not disclosing the nature of Murray's injury. The two-time Stanley Cup champion had all sorts of injury troubles during his debut campaign in Toronto and last played on April 2 when he sustained a head injury. Murray finished the season with a 14-8-2 record while posting a 3.01 goals-against average with a .903 save percentage and one shutout. Ilya Samsonov, who has just been handed a new one-year deal in arbitration, looks set to do the heavy lifting between the pipes for the Maple Leafs next season with Joseph Woll as his backup.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
