Matt Chapman Undergoes MRI Exam
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays third baseman Matt Chapman (finger) was scheduled to undergo an MRI exam on Sunday after aggravating his right middle finger in the game against the Cleveland Guardians, according to manager John Schneider. It's an injury that Chapman has been dealing with for the last couple of weeks after he jammed the finger while putting weight back on the rack. The 30-year-old missed three straight games after initially injuring his finger in the weight room, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him sit out on Monday against the Washington Nationals. For now, fantasy managers should consider the veteran third baseman to be day-to-day. If he misses any time, Santiago Espinal is likely to fill in at the hot corner in Toronto.
