6 years agoHouston Astros infielder/outfielder Marwin Gonzalez is not in the lineup Thursday against the White Sox. Gonzalez is really struggling recently and has only three hits over his last 45 at-bats. Gonzalez appeared to have turned the corner and had his batting average up to .259 on June 18, but this recent skid has dropped his average down to .227 through 269 at-bats this season. This has been a first half to forget for the versatile Gonzalez, and he may not get everyday at-bats over the next week heading towards the All-Star break. Gonzalez led the team with 90 runs driven in last season but has only 34 RBI to this point in the year. Jake Marisnick will take his place in the outfield to go along with lineup mainstays Josh Reddick and George Springer for Thursday's matchup.--Joey C - RotoBaller
