Marquise Blair Could Take Over In Nickel Role
5 years agoSeattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that safety Marquise Blair will "get a lot of consideration to contribute" in a nickel role covering the slot this season. Ugo Amadi was the main nickel cornerback last season but struggled in coverage and will be pushed by Blair this summer. Blair, a second-round pick last year, would be given more of a chance to see defensive snaps with both Quandre Diggs and Bradley McDougald ahead of him at safety. The 22-year-old (23 next month) from Utah had 32 tackles (24 solo) and three forced fumbles in 14 games (three starts) for the Seahawks in his rookie season in 2019.
