Mariners Reward Wade LeBlanc With Extension
6 years agoThe Seattle Mariners rewarded starting pitcher Wade LeBlanc over the holiday, extending his contract and placing vesting options that can add up to possibly $32 million through the year 2022. LeBlanc will earn a base salary of $2.75 million in 2019, making a commitment to the Mariners during a renaissance season. LeBlanc began the season in long relief but has been fantastic since joining the rotation on May 3. After agreeing to the extension on Tuesday, LeBlanc then went out and twirled seven innings of one-run baseball to pick up his fourth win of the season. For the season, the left-hander is now 4-0 with a 3.19 ERA, a 1.15 WHIP and 60 strikeouts in 79 innings pitched. LeBlanc is on a roll right now and can help fantasy teams on a short-term basis over the next few starts.
