Malcolm Brown Dealing With Injury
4 years agoLos Angeles Rams running back Malcolm Brown (shoulder) was limited in practice on Wednesday. If he cannot play and rookie Cam Akers (ankle) doesn't return from his high-ankle sprain against the Cardinals on Sunday, the Rams would play without a running back that has a carry in 2020. Head coach Sean McVay said he'd be confident giving carries to rookie Xavier Jones, who has played only on special teams. McVay also said that Akers is "making great progress" after missing Week 16 against the Seahawks. Akers didn't practice on Wednesday, though, and fantasy managers shouldn't count on the rookie returning for this win-and-in game. At best, Brown should be considered an RB2 against Arizona this weekend, but LA's offense won't have much upside with backup quarterback John Wolford seeing his first NFL action on Sunday.
