New Jersey Devils goaltender MacKenzie Blackwood has picked up a neck injury and won't play in Saturday's matchup against Detroit. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native has been limited to only 15 starts this season and Blackwood's ride has been rocky with a 5-6-3 record. Four of the wins came with his first eight appearances. The 25-year-old has impressed with two shutouts, but his goals-against average still stands at a lowly 3.14 with a .902 save percentage. With Jonathan Bernier (hip) out as well, Jon Gillies is expected to start the match. New Jersey acquired the American earlier in the week from St. Louis. Gillies has already had quite a season, featuring in the ECHL, the AHL and also in the NHL for the Blues. He suffered a 3-2 overtime loss against Anaheim on Dec. 12. Gillies owns a 4-5-2 career record in the NHL.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
