Luis Robert Jr. Out With Knee Soreness, Likely to Return on Friday
Will Venable said that outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (knee) is dealing with knee soreness, which is why he's out of the starting lineup for the second straight day in Wednesday's series finale versus the New York Mets at Citi Field. The good news, though, is that Venable said Robert will likely be back for Friday's series opener against the Baltimore Orioles. The team has a scheduled day off for travel on Thursday. Michael Taylor will start in center field again on Wednesday and bat ninth against Mets right-hander Griffin Canning. Robert is hitting under .200 on the year so far with only five home runs, but he's also contributed 20 RBI, 24 runs scored and a league-leading 21 stolen bases in 51 games played. Hopefully, his knee injury won't slow him down on the base paths. Taylor is also hitting under .200 and will be a low-upside DFS crapshoot on Wednesday.
